I love this story! I just found it! It reminds me of one of my favorite stories “where the wild things are” by Maurice Sendak! Like the boy in that story, this little boy just accepts the beasts and sees them as his new pets. I hope the king has some magic spell, amulet, artifact to protect him or chain the other beasts and their loyalty to him. I can just see him growling and glaring at the other beasts to put them in their place and the king laughing at this. I love the human form of the king And his lover! They are so adorable! I can tell this is a wily king and he will have his way. Both in the kingdom with this boy becoming a prince and with his adorable hellhound lover! The king reminds me of a Viking in his human form and I love that the boy doesn’t fear him in either form. I also love that the prince handed off the boy to his lover to feed and care for him as a dad would to his wife. He might be the kings primus but the king definitely sees his as his honey and his spouse and now they are a perfect little family along with all the rest of the princes probably trying to set this one and jealous of the kings attention over him.
